Nigel Robert Marr

1965 - 2016

We are very sorry to announce the death of the founder of A3 Sports (Liphook Mobility), Nigel Robert Marr on 20th September 2016.

Nigel originally opened A3 Sports in Liphook in 2005, from when the business became a family concern, with all of his close family involved in the day to day running of the shop.  Through the years we used innovation and Nigels years of expertise to develop the business in new and exciting ways.  Nigel was always at the heart of the operation, and was always actively involved in new business development, administration and forward planning.  Even when family illness encouraged a change of business direction into Mobility, Nigel remained committed to the business principles that the company was founded on, namely first class customer service, value for money and honesty.

It is impossible to underestimate just how important Nigel has been to the business.  In his later years Nigel suffered from Heart Failure and Diabetes, and despite his own failing health always kept supporting Jack and Beth, helping to grow the business.

Alongside a busy career in technology, training and account management, Nigel gave over 10 years of service to the Metropolitan Police as Constable, then Sergeant in the Special Constabulary, volunteered to help at several childrens and youth groups and is well known locally as being the long standing former Chairman of Liphook United Football Club, after falling in love with the club when he brought his young son along to play.  He was also a driving force behind the first Pride of Liphook Awards in 2012.

Nigel leaves behind three remarkable children, Grace, Luke and Oliva as well as Jack and Beth.  He was taken from us too soon, but left us all behind so much love.

We would like to thank Nigel for all of his hard work. Without him, Liphook Mobility would not be what it is now.

On a personal level, I would like to thank Nigel for being a terrific best friend and awesome father.  You have left a positive footprint on the world my friend.  God Bless.
